At Egmond Plastic, we have been committed to sustainable and socially responsible business practices for many years. As a leading specialist in plastic injection molding, we are at the forefront of innovation and reducing our environmental footprint.
With the energy transition in mind, we have set ambitious goals. We have thoroughly analyzed our energy consumption and implemented concrete measures to significantly reduce it. Our goal: a 50% reduction by the end of 2023.
And we are proud to say that we have actually achieved this goal. This result confirms our commitment to a future-proof, sustainable production environment and underscores our role as a responsible partner within the plastics industry.
In February 2023, we installed 800 solar panels on our premises. With these, we far exceeded our targeted generation of 270,000 kWh within a year, resulting in a 20% monthly saving on our energy consumption. We have also almost completely renovated our machinery with electric injection molding machines, which are 80% more economical than the 'old' hydraulic injection molding machines.

The two largest hydraulic injection molding machines will not be replaced, but converted with the latest green technologies so that they will consume half as much energy. All this not only contributes to a sustainable production process, but also results in fewer CO2 emissions.
Our focus on energy-efficient and sustainable business practices includes the use of individual infrared heat at desks, LED lighting in offices and factory, active energy monitoring of all machinery, heat-resistant film on the windows of the office building and residual heat from compressors is used to heat our halls.

By recycling of plastics and integrating products, we not only provide cost-effective solutions to our customers, but also contribute to more sustainable production. All of this is anchored in our vision of a circular economy, through which we strive for a sustainable and livable future.
Egmond Plastic employees can recharge their electric cars and bicycles on our own company grounds. And we make the green electricity generated by the solar panels at weekends available to third parties at cost price. It is not a revenue model for us, but a contribution to making society more sustainable.
