A few months ago, our compressor was relocated. A good "move" in the context of savings and "green" thinking within the company. Due to the heat generated by the compressor, the compression chamber was getting so hot that even the unit was experiencing problems.
A few months ago, our compressor was relocated. A good "move" in the context of savings and "green" thinking within the company. Due to the heat generated by the compressor, the compression chamber was getting so hot that even the unit was experiencing problems.
But a solution has been found! Both for the excess heat and the problems with the device. A win-win situation.
Through a special opening in the wall of one of the factory halls, the generated heat—about 15 kWh per hour—is blown into the hall 24/7. The hall can really use the heat, and energy consumption is reduced.
Maintenance Costs Cut in Half
The enormous maintenance costs (approximately €8,000 per year) have now been cut in half, and the number of maintenance visits has been reduced to 1 or 2 times per year. It also appears that the compressor now runs more smoothly and much more stably. And while a backup compressor was previously necessary (doubling energy consumption to 14,000 kWh per year), that is now a thing of the past.
